I'm new at veneer. I used this to reface a friend's cabinets. It was as promised, easy to use. 3M was super sticky. I set it down and seconds later, could not pull it off to fix my mistake! I had a tricky time cutting the veneer to size after sticking it on (video advised cutting a larger piece than needed) because there were three levels to the cabinets, the veneer being the most inner level. Hard to cut it and not cut through the next very thin rounded molding. Use lots of new blades.
My friend only wanted new veneer if the doors were not repairable. Let me tell you, repairing veneer with glue stinks! I'd never buy the glue on veneer after using this.
Will try other types of wood veneer next!

great product put 3 coats of poly to seal serface.did not feel the 3-m back side on the veneer was sticky enough so i did some tests with glue with scrap pieces used 1 coat only on dresser top and laid down veneer perfect!!!glue stuck like you can't believe staining now and looks great thank you very much chris

Perfect solution for my project to remodel a closet door

I replaced 3 bedroom and 1 bathroom door by staining them and they look great. I have 1 closet door that had custom dimensions and my only options were to buy a custom door (Quoted $1k), paint it or use wallpaper/contact paper. All of these options would either not make the door look right with the other doors I upgraded or was too expensive. I am so glad I found this site and option to remodel this custom door. I applied the Veneer - was very easy to do and I stained it just as I did the other doors. It looks GREAT! and was very cost saving for me. Very quick delivery and easy to apply. I am a novice when it comes to woodworking and ordered white oak f/c veneer to cover a vintage chest of drawers. This veneer was easy to work with, adhered to the furniture solidly with contact cement and the piece looked as good as new after staining. My order arrived very quickly and appropriately packaged.

I highly recommend the wood backing veneer.
It is easy to work with and if the situation allows to clamp the veneer to the substrate, I would recommend using wood glue instead of contact cement.
I ordered the White Oak F/C and it looks just beautiful.
